Our Executive Director

Dr. Annamaré Wolmarans is the founder and executive director of Atlega Institute. She has over 30 years of experience in a senior leadership position in the mining industry. While working in the mining industry, she realised the need to provide career guidance to young people in the community and the even greater need to support and develop women in leadership positions in the mining, engineering, and construction industries. Dr. Wolmarans developed a unique training programme for Women in Leadership: Mining and Construction, which was adopted and implemented by Exxaro Resources. She is furthermore the course leader for the Women in Leadership Development programme: Mining and Construction for the Enterprise University of Pretoria.

Dr. Wolmarans is a well-known inspirational speaker at women’s events, such as the annual PinPoint Stewards Women in Mining Conference, the Women in Green Mining Conference, and Women in Leadership conferences. She has co-hosted several webinars on Women in Leadership for the Enterprise University of Pretoria.
